Dashboards usually have one or more filters that affect the dashboard widgets.
You can interact with filters for analyzing data, either through the Filters pane or by simply selecting values by left-clicking the widget. Each time you interact with a filter, for example by selecting or entering a value, the filter is immediately applied to your dashboard. You will not affect anyone else (other viewers) or any other dashboards by changing the filters. Filters are automatically set to a default state, so you may return to your default state at any given time by clicking the Reset arrow in the upper right corner of the filter pane as shown here:
* To set a new default state, simply set your Filters to the desired selections and select the three dots in the upper right corner, followed by "Set as My Default Filters"; you may now reset the dashboard at any time to return to your default state. As well, you may change your default state as desired.
As a viewer, you can interact with filters as follows:
* Make a different selection in the filter controls displayed in the Filters pane on the right side of the dashboard, as shown below:
* To toggle Filters on or off for application to the entire dashboard, simply toggle the switch in the lower right corner of each filter value to enable or disable it. When doing so, the filter will be temporarily changed and never deleted.
* To interact with the Filter, simply click on the pencil icon next to the filter name in the dashboard to display the Filter definition window:
Note that any filters applied at the dashboard level will impact all widgets on the dashboard.
